Musharraf Not Pak Citizen Anymore

Pakistan cancelled the citizenship of former Army Chief & President Pervez Musharraf. Nasir Ul Mulk, who is the caretaker PM of Pakistan, passed this sensational order.

Subsequently, The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) cancelled Musharraf's National Identity Card (NIC). Musharraf's Passport becomes invalid after this move.

Pakistan Supreme Court ordered Musharraf, who has been in self-exile in Dubai for avoiding arrest, to come back to his country and attend the court hearings regarding criminal charges against him. Musharraf will have to obtain Special Travel Documents after cancellations of Citizenship to travel to Pakistan.

In 1999, Pak Army Chief Musharraf outed then PM Nawaz Sharif Government and became Prime Minister. He was forced to resign after Benazir Bhutto's party came to power.

After the cancellation of his citizenship, Musharraf announced he would be contesting the July 25 National Elections in Pakistan for the post of Prime Minister.
