AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi demanded for a law ensuring 3 years jail term for those who call Indian Muslims 'Pakistani'. He made this proposal during the debate on the motion of thanks to President's Address.
Owaisi: 'A Law should be introduced to make calling Indian Muslims as 'Pakistani' punishable. I don't think Modi Government would do that! Indian Muslims had opposed Jinnah's Two Countries policy but still they are denied enough respect'.
The response from BJP MP Vinay Katiyar to Owaisi's demand triggered a controversy. 'Muslims have no right to live in this country. They are ones who divided the nation in the name of religion. Better if they shift to Bangladesh or Pakistan. Why do they stay here? Muslims who hoist Pakistani flag and don't respect Vande Matram deserves to be punished and a new law should be brought for it,' he said.
