Telangana is now demanding a share in the income generated by Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy temple prior to the bifurcation in 2014. A petition in this regard has been moved in the Hyderabad High Court by none other than Dr. MV Soundarrajan, who happens to be the head priest of famous Chilukuri Balaji Temple.
The Petitioner clearly mentioned that Telangana have to get its rightful share from 2002-2013 (Rs 1,000 crore approx). High Court has accepted the petition and sought the response on the demand from TTD, AP & Telangana Governments. The hearing of the case will take place three weeks later.
Revenue of TTD has come up for discussion many time but never been before a petition seeking Telangana's share was moved. Soundarrajan has filed the petition at the time Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao is getting ready to visit Tirumala for offering whatever he promised to Lord Balaji as Telangana statehood became a reality. Is there a political influence behind the case or Soundarrajan has acted independently?
