The defamation suit filed by Tamil director Kalanjiyam against actress Anjali reached Madras High Court.

In a counter affidavit, Anjali seeked High Court to dismiss the defamation suit filed against her in the XVII Magistrate court in Saidapet. Alleging her aunt Bharati Devi and director Kalanjiyam of colluding, She complained they harassed her a lot and even withdrawn more of Rs 57 lakhs from her account without her knowledge. She also accused Kalanjiyam of threatening her to act in a film (which he had produced) without any remuneration.

The petition filed by Anjali came up for hearing in Madras High Court on Thursday. Both Bharathi Devi and Kalanjiyam didn't appear before the court. Justice CT Sevam passed an interim order restraining the Saidepet Court from trying the case.

Earlier, Saidepet Court has issued arrest warrant on Anjali for not turning up before the court for several hearings. In response, Anjali approached High Court and got temporary relief!
