Myself, My Family Won't Contest Polls: Murali Mohan

Update: 2019-03-03 09:39 GMT
Murali Mohan officially announced neither he nor his family members will be contesting in the upcoming Elections. He, however, wishes to continue as the TDP Sympathiser and take care of MAA Trust Activities.

Not just Murali Mohan, Few more TDP MPs are reluctant to contest 2019 Lok Sabha. While some of them decided to contest in Assembly Polls, Few others preferred not to contest at all. Already, Kakinada MP Thota Narasimha decided not to contest Lok Sabha Polls citing health issues. Amalapuram MP Ravindra Babu resigned to TDP and opted to contest for Assembly on YCP Ticket. Both JC Diwakar Reddy and Ramapati Sambasiva Rao decided to retire from active politics.

Political Analysts say, Most of the Ruling Party MPs are hesitant to accept the risk of contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls. They knew victory won't be as easy as that of of 2014 Elections. Why because, Jana Sena and BJP has already distanced TDP. In addition, People aren't happy with the U-Turns of Chandrababu Naidu on Special Category Status and performance of Sitting MLAs/MPs. All the national surveys offered a prediction that YCP will win around 20 MP Seats in 2019. This could be why TDP Senior Leaders are hesitant to contest.
