Anantapur MP JC Diwakar Reddy described AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu as a Mahatma for his relentless efforts to offer drinking water to Rayalseema region with Pattiseema irrigation project. "Even when I was in Congress, I have always respected Chandrababu as he is a visionary leader. He is working round the clock to fulfill his promise. Earlier, I differed with NTR over irrigation projects. Today, I realised my mistake," he said, during his tour to Handrineva-Sujalasravathi Project.

JC, however, doesn't support the welfare scheme 1 Kg Rice per Rs 1 as according to him nobody in Rayalseema is dying of starvation but due to lack of water. He even advised the State Government to increase the price to Rs 5 per kg.
