Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Chief Ministers of Telangana and Madhya Pradesh to Delhi for discussing the drought situation prevailing in their respective states. Modi will be meeting K Chandrashekhar Rao and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister separately on Tuesday.
Since last week Prime minister is exercising to review the situation in 11 drought-hit states and as part of that Modi already met the chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
During his meeting with Chief ministers last week Prime Minister had said that the centre and the states need to work together to mitigate the problems faced by the people due to the drought.
During his meeting with PM, KCR is likely to seek enhancement of the drought relief. While Telangana has sought Rs 2,000 crore, the Centre released only Rs 791 crore till now.KCR will also seek Centre's permission for the proposed reorganization of districts.
Meanwhile opposition congress party alleged that the Telangana CM meeting the PM to speak only about increasing the number of assembly seats in Telangana.
