Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented an official football from FIFA U-17 World Cup to the young prince of Bhutan.
Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, Queen and their Son are currently on a 4-day visit to India. It was during this visit, Modi offered a gift to the Prince and claimed to have had a wonderful meeting with the Bhutan Royal Family.
India and Bhutan have decided to celebrate 2018 as the golden jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic ties between both the neighbouring Nations. President Ram Nath Kovind invited Bhutan King to visit India during the Golden Jubilee Year & received a positive response as well. On behalf of India, President appreciated Bhutan King for his cooperation during the Doklam Standoff which lasted for over two months.
The issue began when India objected building of a road by China in Doklam area which is a tri-junction between India, China and Bhutan. Finally, Dispute was resolved with dialogue at the highest level.
