The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, who had embarked on his first foreign visit post the pandemic emerged had reached the Washington Airport. After reaching the airport, Narendra Modi was grandly welcomed by the Indian Americans. The tricolour was waved at Washington amid much fanfare.
Knowing the news that Narendra Modi is landing at the airport, the Indian Americans reached the airport and gave a warm welcome to him. Despite the heavy downpour, the Indian Americans waited to catch a glimpse of Modi.
Impressed by the welcome arranged by the American Indians, Narendra Modi had thanked them and said they are the strength of India. Before leaving the airport, the Prime Minister met a few Indians and made them happy.
A few Indian Americans were quoted by the news agency Asian News International(ANI) as saying that they have gathered at the airport to see Narendra Modi and they are not worried about the rain.
As per the protocols, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a formal welcome from the US officials. India's Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu was also present when the US officials welcomed Narendra Modi.
In his three-day visit, the Prime Minister will address the United Nations General Assembly, followed by the Quad leaders Summit. Narendra Modi will also meet United States President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. She is the first Indian origin person to hold the position.
The meeting between Narendra Modi and Joe Biden is expected to strengthen the bilateral issues and other issues pertaining to global matters and the interests of both countries as well.
As part of the Quad leaders Summit, Narendra Modi will meet US President Joe Biden, the Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison, and Japan Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga. The last edition of the Quad summit was held virtually in the wake of Covid fear.
