One Year for Note Ban: Modi says Battle Won!

On the first anniversary of Demonetisation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked 125 crore Indians who fought decisive battle against black money and won. 'I bow to the people of India for steadfastly supporting the several measures taken by the Government to eradicate corruption and black money,' he said.

Prime Minister shared a Short Film on benefits of Demonetisation. He claimed Tax Payers have increased from 66.53 lakh in 2015-16 to 84.21 lakh in 2016-17.

Digital Transactions stands at 138 crore in August 2017 against 87 crore in the same period last year. With Demonetisation, Higher Denomination Notes have been brought down by over Rs lakh crore.

About 2.24 lakh shell companies were identified and removed. Post Note Ban, 17.73 lakh cash transactions didn't match tax profile. Cash deposits of Rs 3.68 lakh crore in 23.22 lakh accounts under suspicion.
