No Place for Modi's Constituency in Swachh Bharat list

Update: 2015-08-09 04:07 GMT
Varanasi, the constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has found no place in the Top 100 Swachh Bharat Cities. It ended up securing 418th spot in the list of 476 cities assessed by the Union Urban Development Ministry. This means the holy city continued to be one of the dirtiest places in the country even after one year of NDA Government.

Post winning the Lok Sabha polls, Narendra Modi took a pledge on the banks of Ganga to clean Varanasi. Sadly, Nothing much happened till date and the Swachh Bharat ranking for the city is a huge setback for the Prime Minister.

Only one Uttar Pradesh city 'Etawah' made it to the Top 100 list. Altogether 61 cities of UP were assessed by the Urban Development Ministry.

Another setback for NDA is Home Minister Rajnath Singh's constituency Lucknow ranked 20th among 28 state capitals and 220th city among 476 cities assessed.
