Sidhu's Bank Accounts Seized

Navjot Singh Sidhu received the shock of his life. Bank Accounts of the Former Cricketer were seized by the Income Tax Department for non-payment of taxes.

Tax dues of Sidhu stand at Rs 52 lakh for the financial year 2015. IT Department says Sidhu failed to present necessary documents related to the expenditure shown in the IT Returns filed by him.

Sidhu presented expenses running into several lakhs - Rs 38.24 lakh in travel, Rs 28.38 lakh on apparel, Rs 47.11 lakh on employees salary and Rs 17.80 lakh on fuel. He, however, didn't submit bills to prove his claims.

IT Department issued three notices to Sidhu before taking a stern action. Two of his bank accounts has been seized.

Sidhu has quit BJP in 2016 months after he was nominated to Rajya Sabha. He joined Congress and helped it formed the government in Punjab. He is now the Tourism Minister of Punjab.
