NEET, JEE Mains Postponed Due to Corona Lockdown

Corona has hit another key entrance examination in the country, In view of the complete lockdown being implemented across the country, the Union MInistery for Human Resource has announced that the NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test) for admission into the medical colleges across the country has been postponed. The exam was to be held on May 3 and the hall tickets for the examination were to be issued on March 27.

As many as 15,93,452 persons have applied for the NEET. In addition to this, the Central Government has also postponed the JEE advanced examination for entrance into the IITs and NITs across the country. The  JEE Mains examination was to be held from April 5 till April 11. Since this examination was cancelled, the JEE advancedtest was to be held on May 17. Usually, the dates of entrance examination into the engineering colleges at the state level are decided on the basis of the JEE time table. These examinations were to be held from May 4. Now it is likely that even these examinations could be postponed.
