Update: 2021-01-06 13:31 GMT
The new strain of Coronavirus detected in Britain in September this year continues to ring danger bells in the nation as the fresh infections and fatalities related to the new strain has been increasing rapidly.

Given the pandemic situations, earlier this week,  United Kingdom Prime Minister  Boris Johnson announced a strict lockdown once again which came into effect from midnight of Tuesday. The lockdown will last for six weeks.

Even the vaccination drive started in the United Kingdom didn't help in curbing the Coronavirus infections. England alone has more than 1 million  Coronavirus infections reportedly.

To get an idea of the exact situation in the nation, the Britain government called for a nationwide survey to examine how rapidly the virus has been spreading its deadly wings.

It has been widely reported that one in every 50 people in England has been infected with the new strain of the pandemic, which is an alarming level of the virus spread.

Following this, the UK government has increased the pace of the vaccination program so that the situation won't turn deadly.  Elderly people have been vaccinated in the nation so far.
