News Of Vaccine Unavailability At Vaccine Centre In Mp Leads To Stampede
The way people looked at the Covid vaccinations has changed and the beneficiaries who had doubts about receiving the vaccine doses are keeping their doubts aside and visiting the vaccine centres to take the jabs against the virus.
However, a vaccination centre in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh experienced a stampede-like situation after the beneficiaries tried to barge into the vaccination centre to book a slot to get their due vaccine jabs.
According to the media reports, the rumours of the scarcity of the vaccine doses at the particular vaccination centre had spread like a wildfire, which led the people visiting the vaccination centre to rush inside the facility.
The spine-chilling visuals recorded at the vaccination centre went viral on social media. In the video, people irrespective of their age and gender can be seen trying to bulldoze inside the facility by pushing others. We usually see these kinds of scenes at theatres.
The netizens are demanding that people who violated the protocols at the centre should be punished for not following the rules at the time when the respiratory disease is ringing the danger bells.
But things have changed now given the pandemic scare and taking the vaccine doses to be safe from the dreaded virus has now become the utmost priority for the people.
The situation at the vaccination centre has reached a level that the police personnel had to intervene and bring the messy situation under control. After the police reached, the public started following physical distance.
The incident reported at the vaccination centre is a major concern, as several protocols were violated. The Madhya Pradesh government is facing criticism for maintaining a slow pace while vaccinating the beneficiaries.
The nationwide vaccination drive to administer the doses to the beneficiaries was launched in January this year which is still going on. So far, around 34 crore people across the country were given the vaccine doses.
In the last 24 hours, India reported 46,617 new infections, which take the total toll of the infections to 3,04,58,251. The total death toll surpassed the massive milestone of 4 lakh with 4,00,312 after 853 people lost their lives in 24 hours. On the other hand, the Covid recoveries surpassed the grim milestone of 2.95 crore.
