Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman asks Critics to do 'homework' before demanding Special Category Status for AP. She opined Opposition Parties have been unnecessarily making an issue out of Special Status.
Nirmala Sitharaman appeals Parties to do necessary homework to know if the Special Assistance Measure (SAM) announced by Centre will boost the economy or not. She wants critics to debate on this aspect rather than simply creating nuisance sticking to the 'Special Status' label.
The Andhra Bahu said, 'The question of according Special Status to any state doesn't arise after the formation of 14th Finance Commission. AP is in a financial crisis and hence we are committed to its development. Polavaram will be crucial for the development of the state. We are providing full funding for this massive project apart from Special Assistance and Tax Concessions. Centre is working on setting up a railway zone'.
