The official Twitter account of Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman has been hacked for a brief period on Wednesday.
Soon after a tweet promoting a product was posted on her Twitter page, Nirmala Sitharaman was alerted by her followers and she posted a 'thank you' message within few minutes. "Thanks for alerting on the possible hacking...We are having it looked into. Thanks again," she wrote.
The tweet posted by the hacker was later removed from Nirmala Sitharaman's Twitter handle.
This issue will be dealt seriously as one wrong Tweet could ruin the image of a leader who is very much part of the Government. Luckily for Nirmala Sitharaman, There was no considerable damage in this case.
