Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishes to conduct Assembly and Lok Sabha polls simultaneously across the nation. Whereas, Even his alliance partners aren't ready for such an election reform.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar doesn't see any possibility of holding Assembly and Parliament Polls at once in 2019. He feels simultaneous polls aren't feasible for states such as Gujarat which went to polls recently and poll-bound states like Karnataka. 'Though I am in favour of simultaneous polls, It's not feasible,' he said.
Nitish Kumar ruled out any chances of Bihar Assembly Polls next year. He clarified Bihar would go to polls only in October-November 2020.
Opposition Parties have been opposing simultaneous polls saying it's against the federal principles. Congress, Left Parties, AAP and TMC refuse the proposal.
