As many as 178 Farmers contesting from Nizamabad Constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls held a joint election rally on Tuesday, which is the last day of campaigning. Farmers appealed Public to vote against the State and Central Governments for their anti-farmer policies. They appealed people to vote for them instead of political parties who neglected their demands.
Nizamabad is a constituency represented by KCR's Daughter K Kavitha. She is seeking a re-election from the same parliament segment. While Madhu Yashki is contesting on Congress Ticket, D Srinivas Son Arvind is being fielded by BJP.
Around 3.73 lakh out of 15.53 lakh voters in Nizamabad Lok Sabha Segment are farmers. Ruthu Ikya Vedika demanded MSP of Rs 12,000 per quintal for Turmeric and Rs 3,500 for Red Sorghum. Demand was placed to establish Turmeric Board, Reopening of Two Sugar Factories in Nizamabad, Withdrawal of Cases Booked against Farmers and Implementation of Swaminathan Committee recommendations. Farmers who organised the meeting decided to contest the Local Body elections as well to teach a lesson to the rulers.
