Kavitha Bats For Nizamabad Airport

Update: 2018-01-04 11:36 GMT
KCR daughter and Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha is determined to bring an airport to Nizamabad.  She has recently met Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju with a proposal to set up an airport in Nizamabad district.  She has submitted a proposal to the minister on behalf of the Telangana government to study the feasibility of setting up an airport in Jakranpalli, Nizamabad.

Kavitha requested Ashok Gajapathi Raju to direct the officials to speed up the process to determine whether the Jakran Palli is suitable for the airport or not for which the minister responded positively. The proposed site is located near Jakranpalli on NH-44 and it is 30 km. East of Nizamabad.

The only obstacle this airport is the Nanded airport in Maharashtra. Because Jakranpalli airport site is 100 km aerial distance from Nanded airport. According to the norms, there should not be an airport within 125 km of the aerial distance from Nanded airport.  So, we have to wait and see how Kavitha is going to convince the Civil Aviation ministry for the proposed airport at Jakranpalli.
