Things are not going well and as expected Assembly was interrupted on its fifth constructive day by Seemandhra members for introduction AP reorganization bill.MLAs from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions on Wednesday disrupted the proceedings of the Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly soon after the session began, opposing the draft Bill that provides for creation of a new state of Telangana.
TDP and YSRCP members rushed to the speakers podium and started raising slogans. The speaker request them several times and finally adjourned the house for tomorrow.
Seemandhra MLAs demanding that the House should first pass a resolution opposing the proposed bifurcation of the state. Speaker Nadendla Manohar rejected the adjournment motions moved by TDP, YSRC and CPI on the bifurcation issue and at once adjourned the proceedings for an hour.
The Speaker was supposed to announce the schedule for the debate in the House this morning, but that did not happen because of the din. Earlier the Business Advisory Committee , which sets the schedule to be followed in the Assembly, decided to complete the discussion on the Telangana Bill in three phases. In the first phase, the discussions will be held from December 18 to 20. The second phase will start from January 3, 2014, and the third phase will start from January 16 and be completed by January 23, the deadline given by President Pranab Mukherjee.
Going by the attitude among the Seemandhra MLAs, there appears no scope for any debate in the House on the bill in coming days too.
