No Christmas, New Year celebrations in Delhi amid Omicron fear!

Update: 2021-12-22 12:55 GMT
In the wake of the Omicron variant ringing danger bells in the country, the national capital Delhi imposed a ban on the celebrations for Christmas and New Year. Besides this, no gatherings will be allowed in Delhi and the concerned authorities were directed to make sure that the orders were implemented.

Keeping the situation in mind, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) had issued an order saying that no celebrations and gatherings will be allowed. Having said that, the Authority had urged the authorities to strictly implement the orders.

On top of that, the authorities were also directed to submit a report to the officials on a daily basis, providing details on how strictly the orders are being implemented and what extra measures should be taken in this regard.

It has to be noted that, the national capital Delhi currently holds the highest number of Omicron cases in the country with 57, while Maharashtra stands in second place.

As a precautionary measure, the Authority issued the guidelines to see that the previous mistakes like we faced in the first and second waves won't repeat. The authorities are hopeful that the measures will help in stopping the virus transmission.
