Indians in the USA got a huge relief.  A senior official from the US Immigration services has revealed that they will not take a final decision on H-4 visas until the proper guidelines are formed.  H-4 visas are known as spouse visas which are issued for the spouses of H1-B visa holders.   Barack Obama government passed a resolution in 2015 to allow H-4 visa holders to work in the USA.   Nearly 70,000 H-4 visa holders are working in the USA now.   Trump government is acting strictly on the migrants and they are proposing to cancel the work permits of the H-4 visa holders under America First policy.

A recent survey on the visas done by Congressional Research Services revealed that 93% of the H-4 visa holders are from Indian origin.. 5% are from China.  The majority of these visa holders are Indian women.  Moreover, one-fifth of the H-4 visa holders are living in California.  28,033 H-4 visa holders are living in California.  Texas, New Jersey are the other locations which are following California.  USCIS has issued 1,26,853 H-4 visas till now.  In such a scenario, Trump administration's proposal of cancellation of work permits to H-4 visa holders turned out to be a shocker for the Indian community.

Nearly 130 Congress member urged the Trump government not to remove work permit for H-4 visa holders.   Indo-American lawmaker Pramila Jaipal submitted a request to the Trump government not to remove work permit for H-4 visa holders as many people are getting benefited with the work permits.  Responding to the developments an official from the USCIS has revealed that they are not taking any decision on H-4 as of now.
