Here's a shocking news. The politicians talk about issuing job recruitment notifications and gloat about the number of jobs created. The opposition questions them about the facts and figures. These fiery arguments make it to media headlines. They become electoral issues and make and unmake governments.
But, here's the shocking truth. There has been no recruitment of Grade 4 jobs in the government for the last 35 years. This means, since 1985, there is no recruitment to the post of junior clerks, stenographers, lift operators, sanitary workers, sweepers, attenders, malis, chowkidars, gate keepers and watchmen in both the Telugu states. As a result, the number of Grade 4 workers in united AP came down from 1.26 lakh in 2014 to just 67000 now. Of these 67000 employees, only 47000 are actually working in the posts allocated to them. There has been no recruitment since 1985. This only means that all the governments that came to power since 1985, including TDP, Congress and the TRS have not recruited even a single Grade 4 employee.
The saddest part is the most of these vacancies are being filled by contract and outsourcing employees, who work under contractors. They do not have any job security and work at the mercy of the contractors. So much for job recruitment drive in Telugu states.
