Senior Telugu Desam Party leader Ponguru Narayana was arrested by the Chittoor cops at his residence in Hyderabad. Upon his arrest, he was shifted to Andhra Pradesh. His arrest gave birth to many questions as to why a leader who is keeping his distance from his politics and political events was arrested all of a sudden.

Clearing all the airs around his arrest, the Chittor Police said that, he was arrested in connection with the recent 10th class paper leakage issue. The District SP spoke to the media on this and said that the paper leakage is the reason behind former Minister Narayana's arrest.
During the same, the SP said that the investigation carried out by the officers had pointed fingers at the ex-Minister and for the same reason he was arrested and shifted to Chittor for further investigation into the leakage issue.
Earlier last month, Andhra Pradesh was ricked with a series of question papers leakage. Both ruling YSRCP and TDP started a blame game saying that the other party might have a role to play in the issue, The parties expressed concerns over the issue as the future of the students is linked to the leakage.
Addressing an event that was meant to release the funds of a welfare scheme, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy hit back at the critics and alleged that the TDP is behind the leakage and named Narayana institutions as the accused in this.
With the Chief Minister naming the Narayana institution, the police department had swung into action and gathered evidence. As the evidence guided them towards the ex-Minister, they showed up at his residence in the neighboring Telangana.
