Union Minister Chiranjeevi claimed to be fighting for Union Territory status to Hyderabad until now. However, the brainwash given by APNGOs during their recent meeting in Delhi seems have prompted the actor-turned-politician to take a U-Turn.
All of a sudden, Chiranjeevi has become a strong advocate of Samaikyandhra and promises to fight for it until the Centre holds back its July 30th announcement on Telangana issue. "We have no other option, except expressing the views and concerns of Seemandhra people with the Centre. We have made our stand clear to the High Command that AP should be kept united. In earlier days, Politicians used to dictate what the people have to do. But Today, it's the people who are giving instructions to politicians on what to do! We have decided not to focus on Union Territory or any other proposal. We have only one option, that's to live together. People have been asking us to fight for keeping the state united. They are the decision makers and we are just following them. That's it!," said the minister.
Chiru's change of stand is an indication of how strongly the Seemandhra people have been opposing bifurcation. How could the Congress high command divide the state when 100% of the people in Seemandhra region weren't the move? If the National party goes ahead with the division, it will be completely washed out in the Seemandhra region and can't expect it to come to power for decades.
