Telangana Congress faulted TRS Government ignoring the role played by AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi in the formation of statehood. It questioned why KCR, who declared Telangana wouldn't have been possible without Sonia, didn't include the name of Congress president in the chapter 'The Movement for the formation of Telangana State' in Social Science Textbooks for Class 10.
During the discussion held in Legislative Council regarding role of parties in statehood, KCR himself given an assurance that Sonia Gandhi's contribution will be included in this year's textbooks. However, This didn't happen in reality and the sole credit was given to KCR & TRS in the chapter covering T-Movement.
Congress Leaders slammed the dictatorial attitude of KCR and demanded the state government to revice the textbooks with immediate effect. KCR is yet to react on the out cry of Main Opposition.
