Karnataka Government's latest decision on public distribution system has become extremely controversial. There is dismay and anger among the people over the decision on ration supply.

The Yeddiyurappa government has decided to weed out ineligible white ration card holders. As part of it, the government has issued new guidelines. According to this new guideline, anyone possessing a refrigerator or a television or even a two-wheeler would no longer be eligible for availing ration material. Not just that. They have to surrender the ration card before March 31, failing which, action would be initiated against them.  Also, the government has said that the white ration cards would be issued only to those who have less than five acres of land and earn less than Rs 1.20 lakh a year. If this is strictly implemented 95 per cent of the people in the state would have to surrender their ration cards.

These orders have become controversial and the people are protesting against the government decision. They are slamming CM Yediyurappa for this decision. Let's wait and see how Kannadigas react to this decision.
