No Secrecy over Political Ads on Facebook

Facebook vows to maintain transparency over the political advertisements displayed on the site. From now, The Social Networking Giant will verify the political ad buyers in federal elections. So that, Whoever buys the political ads need to reveal their actual names and locations.

Rob Goldman, who is Facebook's vice president in charge of Ads, assures the new transparency tools built by the company to help users know about people associated with the Advertisements. The New Graphics appearing on Facebook will allow users know more about the people behind the Political Ads.

Facebook identified over 3,000 ads on divisive US linked to Russia. They were viewed by over 10 million people before and after US Presidential Polls.

On Tuesday, Facebook, Twitter and Google will testify in Congress on whether their platforms were used by Russia or other foreign actors in the election campaign.
