Congress Party wrote to Home Minister Rajnath Singh complaining about the breach in Congress President Rahul Gandhi's security when he campaigned in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi on Wednesday. The letter reminds the assassination of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.
The National Party grew suspicious after a green laser was pointing at Rahul Gandhi at least seven times when he was addressing the media upon filing his nomination. Sonia's Political Advisor Ahmed Patel appealed Union Government to investigate and take measures if there is any threat to the Congress Chief. He also sent the video clip of Rahul's media interaction to Rajnath Singh doubting the laser light could have been emanated from a sniper gun.
However, Union Home Ministry condemned the reports of threat to Rahul Gandhi. The Spokesperson of Union Home Affairs told the laser light had come from the mobile of a media photographer hired by AICC.
