No Surgical Strikes in previous years: Parrikar

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar brushed aside the claims of Congress Leaders that surgical strikes were conducted even during UPA Regime. Clarifying that never been before Surgical Strikes were conducted, He gave major credit for the operation across Line of Control (LoC) on September 29th to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Manohar Parrikar says no political party but the armed forces and 127 crore Indians deserves the credit for surgical strikes. 'I have been Defence Minister since two years. As per my knowledge, No surgical strikes were carried out in the previous years. The claims of Congress are nothing but actions of Border Action Teams and there is no role of Government in them,' he explains.

The Minister told Surgical Strikes were a clear indication of the intent of the Government while dealing with Terrorism. Condemning the criticism from Opposition Parties, Parrikar made it clear he himself would have announced about Surgical Strikes instead of Director
General of Military Operations if NDA wants to take political mileage from it.
