Time was when it was the most important post in the TDP hierarchy. Anyone who occupies the post would be considered very close to the TDP top brass in general and to Nara Lokesh in particular. So, everyone hankered for that coveted post. But now, times are different. There are no takers for the post.
Even as Chandrababu Naidu is busy with the work of reconstituting committees for various TDP affiliates, there is complete disinterest in this key post. Ever since Devineni Avinash resigned from the post as Telugu Yuvatha chief after his election defeat in 2019, the post is lying vacant. Chandrababu Naidu is considering appointing Brahmam Chowdary for the post. But, Chowdary is disinclined to accept the post as he is said to be disinterested in spending money. His argument is that he will have to spend money for at least four years till the next election and would gain something only if the TDP wins 2024 elections.
Chandrababu is said to have asked Ayyanna Patrudu's son Chintakayala Ravi and Paritala Sunitha's son Paritala Ravi to take up the post. But both have declined. Similarly Adireddy Vasu, son of Adireddy Appa Rao too has declined the offer. As of now, the post of Telugu Yuvatha president is lying vacant for the past one year.
