At the time of the deadly outbreak of novel coronavirus, a woman was reportedly denied treatment on the grounds of her religion. The shocking incident happened in Karimnagar, where Olga Children's Hospital reportedly denied admitting Muslims.
This news has created an outrage and Majlis Bachao Tehreek Amjed Ulla Khan took to Twitter to share the shocking incident. He even tagged KTR, Telangana DGP, and Karimnagar Collector.
"@KTRTRS Sir, Shocked to hear an audio from Karimnagar that muslims will not be treated in Olga Children's Hospital, Couldn't believe this happening in TS which has a record of #GangaJamuniTehzeeb,Pl ask @TelanganaDGP & @cpkarimnagar to do indepet investigate. @TelanganaCOPs," read his Tweet.
The Olga hospital responded quickly to the controversy and said that this is a mistake of the reception staff who said this instead of saying OP patients will not be taken and added that the girl was admitted to the hospital and given proper treatment.
An audio clip went viral in which a woman asked the person about the availability of the doctor for consultation and the reply the woman got the doctor will not see patients from a particular religion.
AIMIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi also responded to this and made a tweet. He even compared this sort of ideology to the communal virus.
"@TelanganaDGP @cpkarimnagar @TelanganaHealth request you to verify & take strict action against this "communal virus" that has now spread to essential healthcare providers. If we don't contain it in time, it'll only endanger innocent Muslim lives," Owaisi's Tweet read.
