Another round of nominated posts in the offing in YSRCP?

Update: 2022-06-14 05:14 GMT
The ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh, it appears, is planning to placate several sulking MLAs with plum posts. There are several disgruntled MLAs, who couldn't get ministerial berths. Several disappointed leaders have openly rebelled against the party's decision and have even spoken out. Hence, the party's top leadership feels that at least some of these sulking leaders should be suitably rehabilitated.

There are two government whip post vacancies in the YSRCP legislative party. The party has a total of eight whops. Of them, two were made ministers. Hence, these two posts could be filled with those leaders, who could not be made ministers due to some reason or the other.

YSRCP sources say that senior leader and Chodavaram MLA Karanam Dharmasri has been sulking as he has not been made a minister. Though the party made him the district YSRCP president, he is still unhappy.  Hence, Jagan is said to be mulling making him a government whip, which is a cabinet level post. This could placate him and fall in line.

Similarly, Payakaraopet MLA Golla Babu Rao too is quite unhappy at not being made a minister. At one stage he had even threatened to rebel against the party. Though he has mellowed down a bit, the YSRcP, which cannot afford to lose a Dalit leader of standing, is contemplating to make him another Government whip.

Sources also say that the party leadership is planning to give some important post to Denduluru MLA Kothari Abbayya Chowdary. This, the party feels, is important as there is no Kamma minister in Jagan's cabinet. Similarly, Grandhi Srinivas, the giant killer who defeated Pawan Kalyan in Bhimavaram too could be given some key post.. If all goes well, the appointments are likely to be made in the upcoming monsoon session of the AP assembly.
