Not only common man, even hospital bed might not be available for me: HC Judge

Update: 2021-04-23 10:47 GMT
The Delhi High Court has once again expressed its concern over the shortage of medical facilities to treat the Covid-19 patients and made sensational comments on the current situation.

The bench of the Delhi High Court comprising justices Vipin Sanghi, and Justice Rekha Palli heard an urgent petition filed by Saroj Super Specialty Hospital in regard to the shortage of oxygen supply.

During the arguments, Justice Vipin Sanghi said that the shortage of hospital beds is so high that, forget about the common people, even he might not be able to get a bed now.

Senior Advocate Rahul Mehra, who represented the Delhi government in the Court, told the court that the Union Government claimed that the hospital beds were increased but nothing like that happened in reality.

The Delhi Court directed the Union Government to look into the matter of bed availability in the hospitals and allocate more beds for the hospitals that are dedicated to treating the Covid-19 patients.

The other day, the Delhi High Court slammed the Union government over the oxygen supply and questioned why the Centre is not asking the big industries to supply oxygen for medical purposes.
