Now Link SIM Cards with Aadhaar

Union Government has made linking of Bank Accounts and PAN with Aadhaar  mandatory for preventing invasion of Tax. And now, The next move is going to be linking SIM Cards with Aadhaar for National Security.

Centre has made it mandatory to link SIM Card with Aadhaar to avoid deactivation of the mobile phone numbers. Supreme Court passed the order to link all the SIM Cards with Aadhaar in the Lokniti Foundation Case. It's an attempt to prevent terrorists, criminals and fraudsters from using SIMs in the name of general public.

4-Step Process to link SIM Card to Aadhaar:

i) Obtain Aadhaar Update/Correction Form from any Aadhaar Centre or Download it from UIDAI Website

ii) Mention the Mobile Number which has to be updated & fill the necessary details before submitting the form at the Aadhaar Centre.

iii) A Photocopy of Aadhaar Card, ID Proof of Voter ID or PAN or Passport should be submitted.

iv) Biometrics will be verified at the Enrollment Centre & an acknowledgement slip will be given. The updation will happen in 2-5 working days.


Updating New/Another Mobile Number:

Users need to first link their existing Mobile Number with Aadhaar for updating new or another Mobile Number online why because the OTP to authenticate the updation will be sent to the existing number.

i) Visit UIDAI Website: uidai.gov.in

ii) Chooose Aadhaar Update option

iii) Enter Aadhaar Number, Captcha Text & OTP in the Aadhaar Self-Service Portal.

iv) Users will be redirected to a page where required details should be entered.

v) Under 'Select Field (s) to Update', Choose 'Mobile Number' to enter the new mobile number you wish to update.
