Know what's the latest trend in the TSRTC after the failed 52-day agitation of the RTC JAC? More and more employees are now approaching the TSRTC employees now want to shift to the APSRTC. Over 3000 employees, who can be considered locals in Andhra Pradesh, have approached the authorities requesting to be shifted from Telangana to AP. The applications have been sent to Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay and transport principal secretary Sunil Sharma.
Several such people had earlier wanted to be in Hyderabad. Though they belonged to AP, they opted to remain in Telangana and work in the TSRTC, But, after the failed strike, these employees see better prospects in APSRTC, where there is chance that they could be treated as government employees as the Jagan government has promised merger of the RTC into the government. They see uncertain future in TSRTC and fear that they may be laid off. So, applications are pouring in to get transferred to the APSRTC. These applicants are said to be citing reasons such has spouse working in AP or taking care of old-aged parents. Many are claiming that their Aadhar Card is registered in AP and hence they wish to go back to AP.
However, the authorities say such transfers are not possible. Since the RTC is still technically under the control of the Centre, any decision on this will have to be taken by the Central Government. But, we are getting several applications seeking transfer to the APSRTC, said an official.
