YS Jagan Mohan Reddy may be the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. He may have been the democratically elected leader and may have absolute support from the masses. But, a handful of casteists and loyalists of the past government still seem to disagree. They are refusing to accept him as the Chief Minister.
Take for instance Dr NTR Health University. Despite vice chancellor Dr CV Rao's orders, some key officials are not putting up a photograph of the Chief Minister on their premises. They are reportedly bringing pressure to delay the hosting of CM's photo. Interestingly, the health ministry of Andhra Pradesh Government functions from the same premises. Yet, these officials are resisting putting of Jagan's photo. They are claiming that no GO was issued to this effect and that there was no need to put Jaganâs photo in the University.
It may be noed that Siddhartha Government Medical College, Vijayawada Government General Hospital and other institutions have already put CM Jagan's photo on their walls. But, some officials, who are diehard supporters of the outgoing Government are playing truant on this issue. Will the Government assert its authority and force the university into compliance?
