Outgoing US President Barack Obama spoke to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the phone Yesterday to thank him for strengthening India-US Relations. The Two Global Leaders also reviewed the cooperation between the two nations in fields like Defense, Civil Nuclear Energy and People-to-People Ties.
Modi and Obama discussed about Climate Change, Economy, Security and recognition of India as a major defense partner.
US President Obama was among the first few Global leaders who congratulated Modi following historic victory in 2014 polls and also invited him to be at White House. Accepting the invitation, Modi went to White House in September 2014. So far, They have met eight times on different occasions and created a new record.
Obama recalled his experiences during his visit to India as chief guest for Republic Day celebrations in 2015. He also conveyed best wishes to Modi ahead of 68th Republic Day.
