One state was divided and two states were born. The union home ministry fixed June 2 as the appointed day or formation day of Telangana state. The same day, the residual Andhra Pradesh state will come into existence.
The Centre hurriedly fixed the appointed date for the new states to come into being just before a day of General Elections notification.
It was worth to recall that the Telangana bill was approved by both the houses of Parliament.President Pranab Mukherjee on March 1 gave his assent to Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2014. The gazette notification was published the same day but the appointed day was not declared.
With this the bifurcation process will only take place after June 2. The coming general elections are going to be held in United State along with Lok Sabha polls.
