On The Occasion Of Ekta Diwas, PM Modi Pays Floral Tribute To Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
The Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced Rashtriya Ekta Diwas(National Unity Day) in 2014 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who is popularly known as the Iron Man of India.
Marking the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Statue of Unity in Kevadia in Gujarat and paid floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
After paying floral tributes to the Irian Man of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the parade by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Modi remembered the services of Mr. Patel.
Narendra Modi will also unveil the seaplane service from Sardar Sarovar to Sabarmati Riverfront which will help the tourists to enjoy the beauty of the 182-meter tall Statue of Unity. Modi said the seaplane service will boost tourism here.
Speaking at the event, Narendra Modi said it's wonderful to know that today is also Valmiki Jayanti and called it the cultural unity of the country.
Referring to the ongoing pandemic, Narendra Modi said, no one thought that the pandemic would strike. When other nations are finding it difficult to combat the pandemic, India fought the virus, and the country is coming out of it slowly.
Narendra Modi has begun his two-day visit to Gujarat on Friday. During the visit, he launched several projects. This marks the first visit of Modi to his home state since the lockdown was imposed with the Covid-19 outbreak.
