In a series of resginationsof governers today one more added to the list. Its come to know that Manipur Governor V.K. Duggal who also holds additional charge of Mizoram has reportedly submitted his resignation to the President of India according to highly placed sources
President Pranab Mukharjee has reportedly asked Nagaland Governor P.B. Acharya to take additional charge of Manipur. Duggals resignation came amid indications that the BJP-led government may ask its nominees in Raj Bhavans to step down if the Modi government formally asks them to do so.The resignation of VK Duggal is the third in a span of a week.
This was Duggals fifth assignment after he retired as a Home Secretary in March 2007. Soon after his retirement, he was appointed as a member of the Commission on Centre State Relations where he served for three years.
