Update: 2021-01-18 07:25 GMT
There is intense competition within the Congress Party for the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar Graduates Constituency. Several key leaders are vying for the post and are intensely lobbying with the high command. Interestingly, most of the leaders are from Mahabubnagar district.

Former Panchayat Raj Teachers' Union leader Harsha Vardhan Reddy had joined Congress with an eye on the Graduates Constituency seat. He has been working hard for the past six months and has spent considerable amount to woo the voters. He is bent on contesting the elections and has already indicated that he might contest as an independent if the high command denies him a seat. AICC member Vamsichander Reddy too is trying hard to get the party ticket. Young Vamsi Chander is an articulate speaker and an able organiser.

However, senior Congress leader and former minister G Chinna Reddy is also trying to contest from the same seat. Chinna Reddy, a well-known and hugely popular name in the district, feels that this would be his last chance to contest the election in view of his age. So, he wants the high command to give him an opportunity to contest the MLC elections. With three key leaders vying for the same party ticket, the contest is getting interesting.
