Online Loan Apps: Telangana High Court issues key directives to DGP!

The apps that offer online loans instantly have created a sensation across the country. These apps have drained crores of rupees from the borrowers. The loan lenders have used coercive methods to recover the money, which forces many victims to end their lives.

The much-talked-about issue once again made it to the headlines after the Telangana High Court heard a petition on the issue and served key notices to the Director-General of Police.

Advocate Dilip Sunkara, who has been fighting against the loan-lending apps has knocked on the doors of the High Court by filing a petition. The Court heard the petition today.The High Court has directed DGP Mudireddy Mahendar Reddy to take all the required actions to see that these loan-lending apps will be completely banned.

In the petition, Advocate Dilip Sunkara told the court that the apps run by the Chinese people have pushed the lives of so many people into danger and creating situations that force them to take the extreme step.

The High Court has also directed the DGP to take the appropriate measures to remove the online loan-lending apps which are causing problems to the borrowers. The Court asked him to see that the app lenders will not create problems for the borrowers.

The Court adjourned the next hearing of the case to the 18th of March. By the time the next hearing takes place, the DGP was directed to submit a detailed report on the action taken against these apps.

The online loan apps issue surfaced first time with the Hyderabad Police have frozen bank accounts that worth Rs 423 crore. The investigation has shed light on the multicrore scam which has spread to several states.
