Municipal Minister P Narayana condemned the statement of Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao saying Amaravati is prone to floods and scenes witnessed in Chennai will be repeated sooner or later. He also faulted the Congress MP for sending a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the same issue.

Accusing KVP of spreading unnecessary fears among public his wrong assumption, Narayana said: 'As per the direction of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, A plan is being chalked out to safeguard AP Capital even if the flow rate was up to 25,000 cusec".

The Minister stated Chennai faced such huge devastation due to the large scale illegal constructions. He assures adequate measures were taken to ensure Amaravati won't face such a situation.

Narayana informs, 'A 210.1 km outer ring road is coming up in Amaravati. It will cover 7,784 acres in 89 villages. Green Field Airport will be constructed near the Outer Ring Road'.
