Two Weeks Ago, Chandu Babulal Chavan posted with 37 Rashtriya Rifles at the Line of Control (LoC) unintentionally crossed over the border. Ever since then, Pakistan Army took him into custody.
Just hours after DGMO Lt General Ranbir Singh has convened a press conference to inform about the surgical strikes carried out by Indian Army on September 29th, Chandu Babulal Chavan entered into the Pakistan territory with his riffle. Immediately, Indian Army informed Pak Army on the hotline about the Jawan and clarified he wasn't part of the group which carried out Surgical Strikes.
The acknowledgement from Pakistan Army on Thursday gave a hope that Chandu Babulal Chavan will be sent back to India. Mr.Chavan's Family expressed confidence on Centre's assurance that he would return home safely.
