Pakistan Anti-Terrorism Court sentenced a man to death for allegedly resorting to blasphemy on Facebook. This order was delivered by a court in Bahawalpur in Punjab province of Pakistan.
Taimoor Raza was found guilty of insulting prophet Muhammad. The 30-Year-Old had a debate with a Man, who is an anti-terrorism agent, on Facebook last year. Raza was taken into custody soon after this debate.
As per Pak's Human Rights Commission, Taimoor Raza is one among the 15 people arrested by Anti-Terrorism Department in 2016 for committing blasphemy.
Pakistan asked Twitter and Facebook to help it identify users spreading blasphemous content. Even citizens were asked to alert Government when they come across people sharing such content.
Majority of the people aren't happy with Courts awarding death sentences in a very casual manner. They see this trend in Pakistan as a dangerous situation.
