Soon after being elected as AIADMK General Secretary and Leader of Legislative Party, Edappadi Palanisamy sought the appointment of Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao to stake claim for forming the Government. Governor issued an appointment to him at 5.30 PM Today.
Palanisamy handed over the list of MLAs supporting him as the leader of AIADMK Legislative Party to Governor on Tuesday evening. He claimed to be having the support of 126 party legislators and appealed Vidyasagar Rao to call for his swearing-in ceremony.
The meeting between Governor and Palanisamy lasted for only few days. Governor Vidyasagar Rao refrained from giving any assurances to newly elected Legislative Party Leader either on holding a floor test or swearing-in ceremony.
Post the meeting, Palanisamy returned to the Golden Bay resort to hold discussions with Sasikala and AIADMK MLAs on the future course of action.
