Andhra Pradesh, the second worst-hit state in the country with the Coronavirus outbreak witnessed as many as 6,224 fresh infections in the last 24 hours taking the toll of the total cases to 7,13,014.
Looking at the tests conducted in the state, on Friday alone as many as 72,861 samples were tested and 6,224 new cases were detected. So far, over 60 lakh tested were conducted.
Compared to yesterday, Covid-19 fatalities increased slightly with 41 patients losing their lives in 24 hours, which pushes the total casualties to 5,941. On Friday, 31 patients breathed their last.
In the last 24 hours, 7,798 patients managed to beat the virus, while a total of 6,51,791patients have been cured and discharged from the hospitals so far. The state has 55,282 active cases.
East Godavari region continues to fear the ongoing pandemic as the infections in the district are heading towards one lakh with 99,959 cases. West Godavari and Chittor are the next worst-affected regions.
