As per the data released by the Union Health Ministry, so far 952,743 managed to recover from the respiratory disease. This translates to a recovery rate of 63.92%. There are 496,988 active cases in the country.
Raising many fears and concerns about the spread of the virus, so far 33,425 people succumbed to the fatal virus.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, national capital Delhi and Andhra Pradesh turned out as the worst-affected states in the country with the virus outbreak. These states account for over 70 percent of the total infections.
Globally, the total cases rose to over 16.4 million, while 651,902 breathed their last breath battling the virus so far. United States, Brazil, and India continue to be the worst-affected nations in the world and hold the majority of infections.
